Karen J. Sterrett

Karen J. Sterrett received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio, with a dual major in illustration and advertising design. In June 2006, she was awarded a Master of Fine Arts degree from The Ohio State University. Employed as a graphic designer and illustrator, she pursues her own fascination with the fluidity of watercolors, and in the beauty and complexity of nature, through her paintings.

Floral subjects have dominated her work, but still-life, landscape, and even portraiture have also captured her attention. The watercolors of Alice Schille, as well as the paintings of Wayne Thiebaud and Jamie Wyeth, are some of her major influences.
