Cheryl Summers |
Cheryl Summers’ abstract realism is an expression of her passion and respect for the world we live in. Her views and feelings blend into renderings of multiple mediums, accented with symmetric shapes and stylish flows of color that range from subdued to invigorating. Motion is also a very distinct element within her artworks, suggestive of the vast power and energy of our natural environment, windowed through her intrinsic interpretation. She enjoys featuring opposites freely existing together within one painting, reflective of the ever-present conflicts and conditions that exist within the cosmos around us. As if attracted to each other, Cheryl’s works strive to validate a vivid harmony between those things that usually would be left separated. The strongest quality of her work is shown by an ability to present a vision of the intangibles that fuel our existence. By taking thoughts and emotions and giving them concrete, vibrant features, Cheryl Summers offers an expansive, rewarding view of being within the universe, to all who view her creations. Throughout most of her life Cheryl Summers-Dobozy has been involved
in artistic pursuits of one form or another. Childhood interests involved
neighborhood productions of plays and carnivals, with Cheryl being
instrumental in the creating numerous posters, paintings and sculptures
to promote these events. During her teen years a self-taught love
of music began to emerge, with Cheryl’s learning of piano and
guitar. Early adulthood found her as a much sought after faux and
mural painter. This direction coupled with her strong love and respect
for the natural environment, led her to floral designing awards in
many entered events. With painting being her strongest artistic expression,
Cheryl continued to experiment further with different mediums for
color and texture within her works. The result of her efforts has
brought forth a fulfilling and stimulating form of painting that can
be classified as abstract realism. Her full-time career in this area
had spanned well over fifteen years. At this point in her creative
life, Cheryl enjoys a well-earned prominence as an abstract artist
within the Eastern United States. The numerous awards she has received
from the artistic community, add to the knowledge that a proper path
has been chosen for her artistic expression. Cheryl, her husband Steve,
and their two Shelties; Cheyenne, Jasper and Collie Willow reside
in Poland, Ohio, where she produces artworks at Nova 2000 Studio,
surrounded by beautiful English perennial gardens. |
